Metadata Consistency

When cataloguing images, a certain consistency in the metadata is a prerequisite (for example, always enter the photographer’s name in the following form: "last name, first name"). This simplifies the further, and above all, automatic processing of data at a later time. If records from E-Pics are to be imported into another system (e.g. Memobase, Wikimedia, library catalogues) or used for additional services (e.g. DOI registration), the metadata must be adapted to the formats specified by these systems. If the data is not available in a standardized form, this adjustment is often not possible or extremely time consuming.
