Publication of habilitation theses
The Habilitationsverordnung (Habilitation Ordinance) of ETH Zurich obliges all habilitation students to submit an electronic version that corresponds to the printed version to the ETH Library, i.e. that means publishing it via the Research Collection.
Authors who do not wish to allow global online access to their thesis can indicate this in the Research Collection's submission process by either applying an embargo to their document or by choosing the Closed Access file access mode (cf. Access rights).
If you no longer have an ETH user account to submit your habilitation thesis, please contact us to receive a guest account.
External habilitation theses
External habilitation theses are generally not included in the Research Collection.
If the full text of an external habilitation thesis has already been published elsewhere, e.g. on a university repository, the metadata can be recorded in the Research Collection and linked to the existing publication. Such works are to be indicated in the Research Collection in the field: "ETH publication" with "No".
