Several providers block the standard SMTP port 25, so it is necessary to reconfigure the mail clients to port 587.
Step-by-step guide
- Open Outlook.
- Click on “File” in the top left corner.
- Select “Account Settings” and click on “Account Settings”.
- Double click on your ETH account.
- Open “More Settings ...”
- Change to the “Advanced” tab.
- Check if “Outgoing server” port is set to “587”.

- If the “Outgoing server (SMTP)” port is set to “25”, change it to “587” and click “OK”.
- Open Outlook for Mac.
- Click on “Outlook” and choose “Preferences”.
- Select your ETH account.
- Check if “Outgoing server” port is set to “587”.

- If the “Outgoing server” port is set to “25”, change it to “587”.
- Open “Apple Mail”.
- Click on “Mail” and choose “Preferences”.
- Select your ETH account.
- Change to the “Server Settings” tab.
- Check if “Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - Port” is set to “587”.

- If the “Outgoing server” port is set to “25”, change it to “587”.
- Open Thunderbird
- Click on “Tools” and choose “Account Settings”.
- Open “”Outgoing Server (SMTP), select your ETH account and click on “Edit...”

- Check if “Port” is set to “587”.

- If the “Port” is set to “25”, change it to “587” and click OK.
