Adobe Creative Cloud
With Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe provides over 20 applications that can be installed or uninstalled independently and without admin rights via the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Client. The prerequisite for use is a personal, valid Adobe subscription, which can be ordered via the IT Shop.
The subscription is valid for one year. If it expires, it must be ordered again via the IT store. Otherwise the license expires, which means that the installed applications can no longer be used. More detailed information and other important notes on the use of Adobe Creative Cloud applications are explained below.
Ordering or renewing the licence
A valid Adobe subscription is required to use Adobe applications. This can be ordered via the IT store via Service Catalog → Order Software Product.
The remaining validity of an existing subscription can also be checked in the IT store:
- Navigate to My Products → Overview.
- The subscription is displayed as Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps CC Misc ML.
- The expiration date can be found in the Valid To column.

Installation
To be able to install Adobe applications after purchasing a subscription, the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Client (ACCD) must be installed on the end device. This is provided via the IT store after the subscription has been ordered so that it can be installed on self-managed devices. After installing the ACCD and logging in with the valid Adobe subscription, all available Adobe applications are displayed. The desired applications can then be installed directly via the ACCD - admin rights on the end device are not required for this.
For centrally managed devices, ACCD should be installed directly via the respective deployment system:
Windows: The ACCD can be provided via baramundi. It is either available as a self-service in the baramundi Kiosk or can be installed on request from the responsible IT Service Group (ISG).
MacOS: On devices managed through Jamf Pro, the ACCD is available for installation in the ETH Mac Software Store under macOS.

Update
Adobe applications are kept up to date via the ACCD. It is possible to:
- Install updates manually after notification or
- activate the automatic update of the applications:
Activate automatic updating
Open the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop
Click on the hamburger menu in the top left-hand corner → File → Preferences → Applications.
Activate the Automatic update switch.

Applications that are already installed are then updated automatically. This setting applies to all applications by default, but can be adjusted for individual programs.
Notice
- Adobe Acrobat has a separate update process and may not appear in the list.
- Manual updates are possible at any time via Installed applications → Check for updates.
Uninstall
If an Adobe application is no longer required or the subscription expires, the applications or ACCD should be uninstalled:
- Open the ACCD.
- Select the desired application under All applications and select Uninstall from the drop-down menu.
