Download and Install Products from the IT Shop (Windows)

Note

A VPN connection is required outside of the ETH network!

1. Right-click "PC" or "Network" in the Windows File Explorer and select "Map Network Drive ..." from the context menu.

2. Select a letter from the "Drive” drop-down menu and enter the following string in the "Folder" field:

   \\software.ethz.ch\username$.
   Make sure to replace "username" with your own ETH username, followed by the "$” character. Click "Finish" to continue.

3. Finally enter your ETH username and ETH password 
   

     Note

   • If you are not logged into the ETHZ domain, you will need to add the prefix of the ETHZ domain "d\” in the front of your ETH username like this: d\ETH user name
   • Click on "More choices" to choose to login with a different user name if you are not able to change it.

4. After clicking "OK" in the Windows Security dialog window, you will find the mapped network drive in
   your Windows File Explorer.
   
   

   Note

   • Copy the folder to your desktop or local hard disk before you want to carry out the installation. Never install applications directly from the network drive.
