Hardphone VoIP
VoIP telephone sets at ETHZ
ETHZ is migrating from traditional TDM telephony to VoIP with the telephone migration. The standard device for a personal workstation is the CP600 for general telephones the CP205 or the CP100 is used. The OpenStage 40 is a 1st generation VoIP terminal and is still used as a personal terminal.
A VoIP phone has 2 UKV ports on the back of the device. The phone can be connected to one UKV port via an Ethernet patch cable. A computer can be connected directly via the 2nd port on the phone (PC icon). VoIP devices must always be plugged into the data network.
