Introduction

Headset (Procurement independently on own cost center)

All listed headset models have been tested and proper functionality can be guaranteed. Suitable for hardphone OpenStage / OpenScape and UC:

Yes Can be connected and used with Unify phones.

No Can NOT be connected to the Unify phones. Can be used on the PCs for use with collaboration tools.

Procurement independently through ETH Store (Jabra Evolve 20), directly from a supplier, or if a larger quantity, through the ID Contracting and Purchasing group.

Self purchased headsets

Procurement and use at your own risk. Flawless functionality cannot be guaranteed (test yourself). No support and exchange possibility is offered.

Headset for Unify UC (pilot operation)

The UC Desktop app is basically compatible with headsets from Jabra, Sennheiser, JPL and Logitech to control a call with the buttons on the headset. Call control via button only works with the help of a dongel from the manufacturer. If the headset is connected directly via Bluetooth to the PC, no call control via buttons on the headset and also no software update of the headset is possible.

Please note that using the same headset by two different applications (e.g. UC Desktop App and Microsoft Teams) may lead to unexpected behavior in certain scenarios, e.g. dropped calls. In this case, the headset controller for the OpenScape UC Desktop App can be deactivated via the Settings section.

When using the softphone without UC Desktop App (browser only mode), any headset can be used, but calls cannot be controlled with the buttons on the headset.

Wireless Headset

The software that may be required for operation and control can be obtained from the responsible support center or directly from the supplier portal.
The support centers offer a reduced service for the installation of the software. Since the operation is intuitive and self-explanatory, no user training is provided.

Adapter	An additional adapter cable may be required to connect the headset or base station to the existing telephone via cable. Since the headsets must be compatible with the various telephone manufacturers, there are corresponding adapter cables for the various telephone models. The adapter cable is not included with the headset and must be ordered separately.
Bluetooth	The wireless headsets can be operated in different configurations, please refer to the details in the table: Headset with Bluetooth dongle for connection to the softphone. Base station with wired connection to the hardphone and USB connection to the softphone and partly integrated Bluetooth for connection to the smartphone or OpenScape 600 hardphone Some headsets can be registered with max. two devices at the same time, e.g. additionally smartphone. Switching to the corresponding source is performed on the headset or optionally on the base station.
