Your files are not stored directly on Teams but either on your OneDrive or team's documents (SharePoint):

• Uploaded files in a 1:1 or group chat are stored in your OneDrive > My files > My Teams Chat Files.
• Uploaded files in a team channel are stored in your team's SharePoint, e.g., SharePoint > Documents > General.
• Recorded videos are stored in your OneDrive > My files > Recordings (Find recordings - Microsoft Support)
  Teams recording has the expiry date of 60 days! You can change or remove the expiry date. (Manage the expiration of a meeting recording - Microsoft Support)
  

Find lost or missing files in OneDrive

When you have noticed that a folder or a file is missing, please first follow these steps:

In addition, ask people who have access to those files or folders, to go through the same steps.

Losing access to your M365 data

If your account is deleted, the associated OneDrive will also be deleted. You will then no longer have access to your private or business data. If you have shared documents with colleagues via OneDrive, they will no longer have access to them either. Please therefore hand over business data and documents in advance. You must save your private OneDrive files in a different location before leaving.
