Without a SWITCH edu-​ID

With a SWITCH edu-ID

1.     Before starting the registration process, please open a new browser session by closing all browser windows and opening the browser again. Do not use your mobile phone for registration as this may cause problems with some browsers.

2.     Go to the SLSP registration platform: call_madehttps://registration.slsp.ch/?iz=eth



3.     Click Start Registration.

4.     Click Create Account.

5.     Select Create without AAI.

6.     The form for creating a SWITCH edu-​ID account will now be displayed:

  • Required boxes (marked with the smaller blue dots) must be filled in.
  • At least one of the conditionally required boxes (marked with larger black dots) must be filled in, for example, at least one telephone number and at least one address. As soon as one of these boxes is filled in, the indication that the boxes are conditionally required disappears from the other related boxes.


76.     Place a tick mark to accept the Terms of Use and click Create Account.

87.     Click the link in the email you received at the email address you provided.

98.     A confirmation of the activation of your SWITCH edu-​ID account is displayed. If you have registered with a mobile number, follow the instructions in the text message you received to verify your number. Afterwards you can continue with the registration by clicking on the corresponding button.

109.   Log in with the SWITCH edu-​ID you just created.

1110.   The information that is being transmitted to SLSP is displayed. Choose whether you want to be asked if you want to transfer the information each time you log in or only if the information changes. Click Accept.


1211.     Now the data for registration with swisscovery is displayed.  If If you want to record the barcode of an existing library card, click Library Card Numbers. You can type in the corresponding number and save it on the next page. Then accept the Terms of Use and click Register.



1312. A confirmation of registration with SLSP is displayed after that.

1413. Your library account is now ready for use in swisscovery.

6.     To register with SLSP, personal data that may not yet be included in your SWITCH edu-​ID account (e.g. date of birth, telephone number, postal address) is required. You are now prompted to add the missing data. You can use the links below the error messages to enter the missing data.



76.     After you have filled in the missing data, you will be asked again to confirm the transfer of information to SLSP (see step 5). Click Accept.

87.     Now you will be shown an overview of that data that will be used for registration at swisscovery. If you want to record the barcode of an existing library card, click Library Card Numbers. You can type in the corresponding number and save it on the next page. Then accept the Terms of Use by placing a tick mark in the box and click Register.


98.     A confirmation of registration with SLSP is displayed after that.

109.   Your library account is now ready for use in swisscovery.
