Summary
To set up a project on the BioMedIT portal (https://portal.dcc.sib.swiss/), the Project Leader needs to contact the BioMedIT support or leomed-support@id.ethz.ch to request a portal project after registration in the BioMedIT portal.
Portal project setup
The BioMedIT documentation (see links in box below) describes the process in detail. In brief, before being added to a prospective project, the Project Leader and Permissions Manager need to log in to the BioMedIT portal at https://portal.dcc.sib.swiss/ (authenticating with a SWITCH Edu-ID account; also see BioMedIT Portal User Guide and links in box below) and create a portal user account.
Then the Project Leader can request a portal project at biomedit@sib.swiss or leomed-support@id.ethz.ch with the following information:
- Project PI
- Project users: Including their email addresses and assigned roles (Permissions Manager, Data Manager, User)
- Project's full Name
- Project's alias name (only lowercase letters; optional)
After the portal project has been set up by BioMedIT, the Project Leader and Permissions Manager can add further users and assign roles (such as the Data Manager) via the portal directly (see BioMedIT Portal User Guide and links in box below). The users need to log in to the BioMedIT portal (same link as above) prior to adding them to a project.
