Scope
This page describes how to get access to your data on RDS.

Home Directories
This all depends on the setup of your institute/department. In most cases you should have access to your home directory the same way as you get it on your normal windows workstation. Folder Redirection for example.
Not yet migrated
If you are still have your home directory on a dedicated Windows Server, then it is like it was on RDSnx.
OneDrive
If you're home directory or your personal Data were already migrate to OneDrive, the OneDrive Client is installed on every RDS Node.
But there is no Folder Redirection, you have to sign-in to OneDrive on every Node you use. These Process could not be automated or done in the Background because of MFA.
The OneDrive Sync Agent is preconfigured trough GPO with the following settings
Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > OneDrive

Group NAS Shares
If your groups NAS share is not mounted automatically you can mount it the same way as you do on your Windows workstation.
Scratch Drive
The E:\ drive is only for storing data temporarily. It's purged once a month, usually during the maintenance window.
In order to move data to the E:\ drive, create a folder first, then copy your data into it. Otherwise it will not work.
Polybox
This Section is a Draft
Polycloud Service was migrated from Owncloud to Nextcloud.
The software migration on our polybox servers announced for last weekend (April 5, 2025 from 08:00 to Sunday, April 6, 2025 20:00) was successful and has been completed.

We will check if we should preinstall polybox on all nodes and if we can configure some settings.
